This is the essence of evil. We all know we have it. It clings to us...it follows us everywhere. When we see it for what it is in ourselves we hate it, but we cannot get it off.

We’re trapped inside ourselves. We watch with horrified disdain as we do things we hate, but what can we do about it? Try to control it perhaps? Try to keep it from the blood of those we love?

We as the human race have tried over and over on our own, but thousands of years of religious rituals, disarmament treaties and philosophy have not freed us from murder, war, rape and guilt. As long as we look to ourselves for the answer, there is no hope. Evil is all over us. We are in bondage to evil. We can’t get it off.

It’s hard to believe now that I used to live this way. I cannot express how glad I am that I’ve been freed from a life like this.
